MEI has opened at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, introducing a refined blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisines in an elegant, art-inspired setting. Created by the team behind SHI and Moli by SHI, the restaurant reimagines the former Zheng He’s space into a vibrant dining and late-night destination. With its focus on detail and elevated atmosphere, MEI has quickly become one of Dubai’s standout openings of 2025.
The menu features an array of dishes crafted around a robata grill, from premium meats and seafood to signature dim sum, claypots, and duck specialties. The Japanese section highlights fish sourced directly from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market, showcasing delicate sashimi, maki, and seasonal specials. This culinary duality reflects MEI’s vision to unite the precision of Japanese technique with the boldness of Chinese flavor.
The interiors balance modern artistry and warmth, with murals, woodwork, and an inviting terrace overlooking the Burj Al Arab. By night, the space transitions into a lounge-style venue, with DJs and a lively yet sophisticated ambience that continues until 2 a.m. Offering a seamless blend of fine dining and late-night energy, MEI redefines the Mina A’Salam experience for a new generation of Dubai diners.
