Gymkhana has recently opened in Gate Village, DIFC, marking the acclaimed London restaurant’s first UAE outpost. Founded by siblings Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi, the concept first launched in London in 2013 and draws inspiration from India’s historic elite social clubs. Its arrival adds another major international dining name to DIFC.
The Dubai restaurant spans two levels and accommodates up to 137 guests, with interiors featuring warm lanterns, patterned ceilings and richly detailed dining spaces. The lower level introduces a mirrored ceiling and a statement peacock bar, creating a more dramatic setting. The design retains Gymkhana’s club-inspired identity while giving the space a distinctly Dubai feel.
The menu stays close to Gymkhana’s roots with chaat-style sharing plates, tandoori dishes, curries and biryanis, with Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops standing out as our favorite menu item. Several dishes have also been created specifically for the Dubai location, giving the outpost its own character. Following openings in Riyadh and Las Vegas, the DIFC restaurant continues Gymkhana’s growing international presence.
