Dubai has confirmed reduced working hours for both the public and private sectors during Ramadan 2025. Based on moon sighting predictions, the Holy Month is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) have outlined adjusted schedules to accommodate fasting employees.
Private sector employees will have their daily work hours reduced by two hours, in accordance with Federal Decree Law No. (33) of 2021. Depending on job requirements, some employees may also be eligible for flexible or remote work arrangements. The MOHRE remains responsible for regulating working hours during Ramadan while ensuring compliance across the UAE.
For the public sector, government employees will work from 9 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Fridays. Federal entities may offer remote work options on Fridays, depending on the nature of their roles. These adjustments aim to support work-life balance while maintaining productivity throughout the Holy Month.
