The World Islands’ Heart of Europe is set to welcome a new addition with the upcoming InterContinental Resort Portofino. Developed through an agreement between IHG Hotels and The Heart of Europe, the beachfront hotel will feature 466 rooms and suites, each offering uninterrupted sea views. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the property will include authentic Italian dining and floor-to-ceiling aquariums across all six floors.

Designed with families in mind, the resort will introduce the Kingdom of Portofino, an exclusive area featuring a kids’ club, children’s theater, and a dedicated water park. The hotel will also play a role in marine conservation, contributing to The Heart of Europe Coral Institute’s efforts to protect and rehabilitate marine life. Meanwhile, IHG Hotels is also preparing to launch voco Monaco, an adults-only party destination offering a contrasting experience to the family-focused Portofino resort.

Beyond Portofino, The Heart of Europe continues to expand with unique luxury concepts. The Marbella Resort Hotel, set to open in 2026, will bring a Mediterranean-inspired escape, while Sweden Beach Palace offers Scandinavian-style villas with private infinity pools. The Floating Seahorse provides an underwater living experience, and The Floating Lido, a Venetian-inspired resort, is set to become another striking feature of this one-of-a-kind destination.
