Developed by the Al-Futtaim Group and designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA) will be a striking floating landmark rising above Dubai Creek. Unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the project merges contemporary design with elements inspired by the sea and pearls symbols deeply rooted in Dubai’s heritage. The museum embodies the city’s vision to position itself as a global hub for culture, creativity, and innovation.
The five-storey structure will house exhibition galleries, a restaurant, and a VIP lounge, with ground and basement levels dedicated to special events. Beyond serving as an exhibition space, DUMA will function as a multidisciplinary cultural destination, hosting talks, panel discussions, and international art fairs. It will also feature a library and creative learning zones aimed at nurturing emerging artists and future cultural leaders.
During the unveiling, His Highness emphasized that culture and art represent the soul and progress of a city. He noted that Dubai continues to attract global talent, fostering a thriving home for creative communities and industries. While the official opening date has yet to be announced, DUMA is set to become a defining addition to Dubai’s evolving cultural skyline.
