Dubai experienced a significant rise in international tourism, welcoming 16.79 million visitors between January and November 2024. This marks a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2023 when 15.37 million tourists arrived. According to the Dubai Tourism Sector 2024 Performance Report, the emirate received the highest number of visitors in February with 1.9 million, while June recorded the lowest with 1.19 million.
Western Europe remained the leading source region for Dubai’s tourism, contributing 20% of total arrivals with 3.29 million visitors. South Asia followed closely, accounting for 17% with 2.85 million tourists, while GCC countries contributed 15% with over 2.5 million visitors. Other key markets included the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern Europe (14%), the Middle East and North Africa (12%), and North East and South East Asia (10%).
Dubai’s hospitality sector continued to grow, with the total number of hotel rooms reaching 153,390 across 828 establishments by the end of November. Hotel bookings surpassed 39.19 million nights, reflecting a 3% year-on-year increase. Luxury accommodations dominated the market, with 5-star hotels accounting for 35% of total rooms, while mid-range hotels and serviced apartments provided diverse options for travelers.
