Dubai has been officially ranked among the world’s top foodie destinations, coming in at number four globally. The recognition comes from a study conducted by UK-based travel company Travelbag, which analyzed social media activity on Instagram and TikTok. Millions of posts tagged with “Dubai” highlighted the city’s thriving food scene, with over 2.1 million posts on Instagram and 127,900 on TikTok.
The study reviewed 50 global cities and considered factors such as average meal cost, variety of culinary experiences, and social media buzz. Dubai stood out for its luxury dining scene, with renowned restaurants like Nusr-Et and Pierchic gaining global attention. Experiences ranged from fine dining to cooking classes, with Pierchic’s overwater setting highlighted as a top culinary experience.
Dubai’s average meal for two at a mid-range restaurant was estimated at AED 285, making it a more affordable option compared to Toronto. The city was also praised for its extravagant food trends, including 24-karat gold-covered steaks and towering desserts from The Cheesecake Factory. The ranking placed Dubai just behind Melbourne and ahead of Sydney, reinforcing its growing influence as a global food hub.
