Dubai recorded 7.15 million visitors between January and April 2025, marking a 7% increase from the same period in 2024. This follows a 9% year-on-year rise in 2024 compared to 2023, confirming the city’s continued upward trend in tourism. Dubai remains a top destination, with high visitor numbers during Eid Al Adha and major international events hosted throughout the year.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) credits this growth to collaborative efforts across aviation, hospitality, retail, and cultural sectors. Emirates Airline has launched targeted campaigns offering complimentary hotel stays and attraction discounts, while live events and festivals continue to draw global audiences. Dubai International Airport retained its position as the world’s busiest international airport, supporting the city’s increasing inflow of travellers.

During a City Briefing held at Coca-Cola Arena in June, officials highlighted new initiatives such as the MyDubai Communities programme and autism-friendly certification, aimed at enhancing the city’s accessibility and appeal. Major events like the Dubai World Cup, ICC T20 cricket tournament, and Ramadan and Eid festivals have further boosted tourism. According to Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, these efforts reflect Dubai’s goal to strengthen its position as a leading global destination.
