His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has officially inaugurated Al Sheraa, the new headquarters of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in Al Jaddaf. The landmark building is recognised as the world’s tallest, largest, and smartest energy-positive government building. It represents another milestone in Dubai’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Al Sheraa integrates advanced smart technologies throughout the building. It features more than 110,000 smart sensors, over 1,500 wireless access points, and 3,200 connected devices that generate more than 1.9 million automated control commands each day. The building also produces up to 5MW of electricity through two main solar photovoltaic systems.
Designed as a global architectural landmark, Al Sheraa showcases sustainable design and energy efficiency at scale. The project reflects Dubai’s focus on combining technology with environmentally responsible development. It is expected to serve as a model for future government buildings around the world.
