Design Miami is officially expanding to Dubai, marking its first entry into the Middle East. Announced during the fair’s December press conference, the initiative is driven by a new multi-year partnership between Alserkal and Design Miami. Together, they aim to position Dubai as a leading global hub for collectible design starting in 2027.
The collaboration will introduce a flagship fair and a year-round calendar of design-focused activations beginning in early 2027. Both institutions share a curatorial vision centered on experimentation, cultural exchange and creative community-building. This move builds on Design Miami’s global trajectory, following successful editions in Miami Beach and Paris.
For Alserkal, the partnership reflects nearly two decades of developing cultural infrastructure in Dubai. Alserkal Avenue has grown into a major creative district, home to more than 90 businesses and close to two million annual visitors. The new initiative is seen as the next step in supporting regional talent while connecting Dubai to broader international networks.
