Dubai has announced plans to build Therme Dubai, the world’s tallest wellbeing resort, with a projected cost of AED 2 billion. Scheduled to open in 2028, the resort will be located in Zabeel Park and span 500,000 square feet, reaching a height of 100 metres. Designed to welcome 1.7 million visitors annually, it will feature a massive interactive park, the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, and three 18-metre waterfalls.
The resort will include three main areas: Restore, Relax, and Play, each offering a unique experience. Restore will focus on rejuvenation with thermal complexes, saunas, steam rooms, and mineral treatment baths. Relax will provide indoor and outdoor relaxation pools, mineral pools, steam rooms, and natural treatments, while Play will be a family-friendly zone with 15 water slides, natural therapeutic areas, and multi-sensory saunas.
Therme Dubai will incorporate sustainable design, recycling 90 percent of its thermal pool water and meeting 80 percent of its cooling needs with clean energy. Inspired by ancient bathing traditions, the resort will offer luxurious spa treatments including Roman and Turkish baths, Japanese hot springs, and Nordic saunas. Part of Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033, Therme Dubai joins a global network of wellbeing centres, with existing locations in Romania and Germany, and upcoming projects in Scotland, England, and Canada.
