Dubai has once again been named the world’s cleanest city, securing the title for the fifth consecutive year. According to the Global Power City Index (GPCI) by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation, Dubai ranked ahead of 47 major cities worldwide, receiving a 100% satisfaction score for cleanliness. This achievement highlights the city’s commitment to maintaining a pristine urban environment while attracting global residents, businesses, and tourists.
Dubai’s cleanliness is upheld by the Dubai Municipality, which oversees a vast team of 3,200 cleaning engineers and supervisors. Every day, 855 specialized vehicles are deployed to clean over 2,400km of roads, 1,419 square km of investment zones, and 33.4km of water canals and creeks. The city’s meticulous maintenance efforts ensure that streets remain spotless, even as Dubai’s population continues to grow, reaching 3.8 million residents in the past year.
Beyond cleanliness, Dubai is also recognized as one of the happiest and safest cities in the world, offering exceptional quality of life, modern infrastructure, and top-tier dining experiences. The Dubai Municipality has also prioritized greener urban spaces, planting over 2.5 million flowers and plants to enhance the city’s beauty. As Dubai continues to expand, its dedication to sustainability and cleanliness remains a defining feature of its global appeal.
