Dubai’s hospitality sector continues to thrive, cementing its status as a global tourism hub. In the first half of 2024, the city saw the addition of 2,700 new hotel rooms across 12 openings, bringing the total to 719 hotels with nearly 149,750 rooms. High-end accommodations dominate the market, with 67% of the inventory in the luxury segment and significant growth in four- and five-star hotel offerings.
The expansion shows no signs of slowing down, with 40 more hotels set to open by the end of 2025, adding an estimated 10,100 rooms. Upcoming highlights include the Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, designed like a superyacht, opening in 2025, and the world’s tallest hotel, Ciel, debuting in Dubai Marina in early 2025. Luxury brands like The Lana Dubai Dorchester Collection and FIVE Luxe JBR have already joined the city’s elite hospitality lineup last 2024.
According to Cavendish Maxwell, Dubai’s occupancy rates and average daily rates (ADR) are at a six-year high, reflecting the city’s growing appeal to global travelers. The addition of around 15,000 more rooms by 2027 underscores the strategic importance of hospitality in Dubai’s economic diversification. As luxury and midscale offerings expand, Dubai continues to set new benchmarks in the global hospitality industry.
