Originally launched in 2002, construction was paused after the 2008 financial crisis before Nakheel revived the project in 2023. Major infrastructure works are now underway, with key phases scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development is expected to feature more than 90 kilometres of beachfront, along with hotels, resorts, beach clubs, retail destinations and residential communities. Plans also include waterfront promenades, yacht and wellness facilities, town centres and a range of leisure attractions. The first residential properties are expected to be handed over from 2027, while hundreds of additional waterfront villas are scheduled for completion by the end of 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An official completion date for the entire Palm Jebel Ali development has not yet been announced. The project forms part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, suggesting that the island will continue to open in stages over the coming years.
